Dr. Aimee Sawyer
Aimee was born and raised in Long Beach, Mississippi, she graduated from Mississippi State University in 2013 with a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology. Aimee then graduated from the University of South Alabama in 2017 with a Doctorate of Physical Therapy and was awarded the 2017 Dean’s Award for Academic Excellence in Physical Therapy and the Department of Physical Therapy Excellence in Neurology award. Aimee discovered her passion for working with children when working as a summer camp counselor, however, her clinical rotations in Pediatrics re-affirmed her passion to work with children with special needs. During her clinical rotations, Aimee performed a case study on utilizing partial weight support system to facilitate achievement of age-appropriate motor milestones in a child with Fetal Aminopterin/Methotrexate Syndrome with Cerebral Hypoxia. She has a passion for helping others, making therapy fun, and continuously learning daily. Aimee is ecstatic to start her career as a pediatric physical therapist on the TLC team.
