Belkis Simmons is a Florida licensed and board certified, bilingual speech-language pathologist fluent in English and Spanish, with a some basic ASL. She received her Bachelor of Science in 1996 and her Master of Science in Speech Language Pathology in 1998 from Nova Southeastern University in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. Belkis has worked with the pediatric population in a variety of settings, including private practice, natural environment, outpatient rehabilitation, and participated in the “Family Place” program in Martin County, FL providing language development information, resources, and recommendations to parents and caregivers.
Belkis has had experience treating children with a multitude of diagnosis, including: language and developmental delays, articulation and phonological disorders, feeding and oral-motor disorders, apraxia of speech, autism, and Down syndrome. Her passion is to see children grow and develop strong ties with family and peers through communication.
