Dr. Julie O'Connor
Dr. Julie O'Connor graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology in 2014 and a Doctor of Physical Therapy in 2017. She realized her passion for working with children after volunteering with a special needs gymnastics program as well as coaching for Girls on the Run, a non-profit girls’ running program. She realized she wanted to pursue pediatric physical therapy after participating in the Kids Step Study at the University of Florida, using body weight supported treadmill training to recover walking ability in children with spinal cord injury.
She has worked as a physical therapist in both the clinic and home health setting, providing physical therapy for children in the neurological, orthopedic, developmental, and medically complex patient populations. She is active in the physical therapy community, attending national conferences and maintaining membership in the APTA. She enjoys assisting her patients to obtain adaptive equipment and has worked with local and national organizations to assist families to obtain funding. Julie is excited to continue her passion for pediatric physical therapy in the natural environment with the TLC team.
