How Do I Know if My Child Needs Pediatric Autism Therapy Home Services and Developmental Therapy?

Your child might need therapy if you notice signs of developmental delay in communication, movement, physical activity or learning. You should discuss your concerns with your child’s pediatrician and a trusted therapist to determine your next steps.

 

What is Natural Environment?

A natural environment is where your child spends a large portion of their time during development. The natural environment can include your home or other family members’ homes, schools and daycares. We deliver our services in-home and help our clients learn skills they can transfer to areas like schools or daycares.

How Does In-Home Therapy for a Child Diagnosed With Autism or Another Condition Benefit Them?

At-home therapy benefits your child because they receive services in a familiar environment. They can learn the skills they need to succeed in the home. Additionally, in-home therapy sessions allow for family support and interaction, which can help increase independence and the relationship between parents, caregivers and siblings.

What Is the Cost of Therapy Services?

At TLC Pediatric Therapy, we accept many state and private insurances. You also have the option to private pay. Our team will work with you to determine what costs are covered and your therapy expenses.

 

Are You an Early Steps Provider?

Yes, TLC Pediatric Therapy provides Early Steps. We work closely with Early Steps of Central Florida and Orlando Health to provide these resources to children from birth to three years old.

 

What Is the Early Steps Program?

The government provides a program called Early Steps for children from birth to 3 years old. With this program, the government pays the cost of therapy services for eligible children. Eligibility criteria include the diagnoses of:

• Neurological disorders
• Genetic or metabolic disorders
• Sensory impairments
• Autism spectrum disorder (ASD)
• Reactive attachment disorder (RAD)

Your child may also qualify if they weigh less than 1200 grams at birth.

 

How Long Should Therapy Services Last for My Child?

There is no set timeline for how long therapy services should take. Our goal is to provide evaluations and develop customized treatment plans that help your child meet their needs and goals. We provide reassessments during treatment to check progression.
