Vanessa Baztan

Vanessa has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders and a Master of Science in Speech Language Pathology from University of South Florida.  Prior to coming to TLC, Vanessa worked as a Bilingual Speech Language Pathologist to elementary/middle school students with varying language/speech disorders.

Vanessa has participated in independent research of pre-school children focusing on the effects of vocabulary acquisition using a standard curriculum vs. integrating culture during literacy activities.  She organized a series of ethnographic activities for parents including culturally diverse activities and literature ideas to use in the home.

Vanessa was born in Miami, FL and was immersed with a Spanish/English bilingual background from a very young age.  She enjoys working with families of varying cultural and linguistic backgrounds through literary, creativity, and play-based activities in a supportive team environment.
